I know you are a man of few words, but why? The system as designed is inexpensive, safe, and easy (quick) to build. Easy parking brake as well.

Lol. I know I don’t have a lot to say most of the time. But after working on old motorcycles and cable brakes on them I think they will work. I have also designed a full swivel locking tail wheel I’m planning on using. Thanx. Billy

I know you are a man of exceptional talent. However, I just have to say this one thing then I'll shut up.

There will come a day when you are sitting in the cockpit, looking down the runway, and ready to advance the throttle. On that day all your hard work, money, and hours of dreaming will be riding on two unproven systems functioning properly. You'll have lots of time to modify the plane after it's flying. My $0.02.

Billy.........I have been following your posts and your doing a nice job to be sure.

However.......I agree with Wes Ragle regarding changing too many things during the build. There are enough things to worry about during those first few flights of a new airplane.....and that's if you keep everything EXACTLY to the plans.

I'm "old school" and believe in the KISS (keep it simple stupid) approach and also....."if it isn't broke, don't fix it). If you deviate from that it usually will cost you money and a lot more time during "the build".

Incidentally, if you really want a full swivel tail wheel....Flyboy's Acc. has one designed for the Sonex/Onex.

Yes, the other Xenos being built here in Melbourne has cable differential tow brakes. There is now a Xenos project rebuild down in Ft. Pierce going on because the crosswind blew the plane off the runway and it flipped. Differential brakes have been real handy for me in my RV6 and One Design and will also be implemented in my Xenos. Just that I am making it hydraulic and have the Flyboys full swivel TW.

I wouldn't call cable or hyd. differential brakes and full swivel TW an unproven design. In my opinion, not going this way is deviating from best practice.

Sorry Didn’t want to start something here. Simple is good but there are many sonex with stock set up and toe setups. I just prefer toe to having to use an arm that might be needed for something else at a critical time. This is my setup so far.

Build the toe brakes Billy. Build them carefully, I know you will, and enjoy them. It’s a great idea.

I personally would go hydraulic, seems more reliable, but still interested to see what you come up with.
