AeroVee on Barnstormers

Postby MichaelFarley56 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 12:28 pm

Hello,

I'm sure you've seen this, but someone is selling an AeroVee 2.1 engine, supposedly zero time, on Barnstormers assembled with the Nykasil cylinders for $3995. I have no idea what the condition is or how it was built, but if I hadn't bought my engine I'd be all over this for that price! Mine is 4 serial numbers older and I received mine in spring 2011 so this one can't be all that old.

Just wanted to pass the word...

I stumbled across this late last night and after some discussion with the seller I purchased it. The seller is looking for more HP for his Sonex, and has been extremely helpful with the purchase. Even though the engine appears to be well built, you never really know...I will be doing a rebuild of the engine once I receive it. I figure for the minimal cost of a rebuild, it is the safest bet and will get me more familiar w/ the Aerovee.

Congrats Frank! For that price you're getting a great deal, especially with the cylinders. If it were me, I'd do the exact same thing. Label everything, take it apart and inspect, paint the case, then reassemble.

If you think of it let us know how the build goes!
