Aerocarb Install with Jabiru 3300

I am looking to install an Aerocarb on my Jabiru 3300. I read through the Install Manual: http://www.aeroconversions.com/support/ ... Manual.pdf

I would like to confirm that an Engine-Driven Fuel Pump is not required. The Manual says "No" per the Gravity Feed System. Would anyone please share pics of their installation?

Mike, I can confirm that the pump is not required. You will remove the pump and install a plate over the hole. The AeroCarb works with suction and you'll note that the engine stops immediately when the fuel valve is closed.

I set my AeroCarb 8.5 years and 763 operating hours ago and have not touched it since.

A Sonex builder in our EAA chapter has just replaced his turbo with a Gen 4 3300. He discarded the Bing, which requires the pump, with a new Sonex carb fed directly from the tank. He has no problems with fuel flow and is quite pleased with the set up. He attached the carb directly to the engine, per the Bing. Amazingly, he didn't have to play with the metering needle and is getting fairly uniform CHT and EGT. I'll try to remember to ask him for an update at this Saturday's meeting.

The 3300 bits from Sonex are dated. The aluminum plenum doesn't fit the new generation engine properly and needed work to fit.

Thank you for the info and feedback. I am looking to install a standard push/pull throttle on tbe Aeroinjector. Any suggestions on a bell crank design?

I think the bell crank may introduce another failure point. The best solution to me is to mimic the original Aerocarb, A hole is drilled in the case. a piece of ready bolt is screwed into the plastic slide. A bar is fitted to the ready bolt and the throttle cable bolted to that. The Aerocarb had a clamp built in to hold the throttle cable but that can be fabricated.

I also saw a picture online of a simple setup where the throttle cable is connected to rectangular bracket lime the one in the attached pic. Any ideas about this solution?
