For those of you that left the front floor off till the end did you rivet the box section to the floor except where it connects to the sides? Thank you billy

Billy,
My floor is still off. Which box section? You mean the square tube?

I mean the box structure behind the main spar carry through. Everything up to the rear carry through. Stuff in my last picture. Thanx

I have all of that stuff riveted to the airframe and not to the floor. The floor removal gives access under the instrument panel and up on the firewall. It is a little bit of a pain to sneak past the square tube in the front. I did not rivet it until wing rigging was complete.

Hi Billy. Now is a good time to drill and fit all those parts. However I reckon you will find it easier to rig the wings with none of that stuff rivetted in.

From memory I think I set it all up at the stage you are at. I deburred, then rivetted together what I could then removed it and set it aside half built.

That centre tube from the firewall to the tunnel is best left out until all wiring, plumbing etc is done. Just install the fixing gussets at each end and have the tube totally deburred set aside and ready install.
