Anybody know?

Postby EdW » Thu Mar 08, 2018 3:38 pm

Anyone know just how many of us have decided to throw common sense to the winds and build this delightful little machine of fancy?

Not anything important, just wondering how big the Brotherhood is.

Far more than it would seem by reading this board. The Sonex Builders database shows 1997 total worldwide. Completions are 593 of that number.

Keith probably has better info than I do, but a rough estimate can be found by looking at the builders database on the factory website.

There numbers are very rough estimates...

Sonex - 1750 sets of plans sold total (kits and plans)
Waiex - 220 kits sold
Onex - 200 kits sold
Xenos - 50 kits sold
SubSonex - 10 kits sold

Total would be a little over 2200 total of all different models available. Again, rough numbers; I’m sure the factory has better numbers!

The sonex website has a builders database that can be easily searched to find out:

I truly apologize if I've offended anyone with the proposed name of my airplane. I chose the spelling just so I wouldn't.

Just for the halibut, ask John sometime what he named his first homebuilt, the Jeanie's Teenie in German livery.
