Annual Condition Inspection

Postby Titanium Cranium » Fri Jan 26, 2018 11:54 am

This is mostly for those of you who, like me, did not build your Sonex/Waiex, and don’t hold the repairman certificate for it. How did you go about finding an A&P who was willing to do your annual condition inspection, and how much do you typically pay for it?

I haven’t been able to find a local A&P yet who will do an annual on an experimental.

Tom,

I wish you luck in finding an A&P. As a reference, I charged $35/hr for an annual inspection when I used to do them on some friend's RV's. It would typically take 15-20 hrs, depending on how much service/repair was needed from me. Now that I am building a plane again, my time off from my day job is very limited so the building my Xenos and flying my RV-6 meant I stopped working on other people's airplanes.
