3D printable stick grip

Hi ya'll,

I decided to print my (very simple) stick grips on a 3D printer. I used a woodfill composite filament and it feels nicely like wood. I'm not yet sure if I will stain them.

Here's the design file needed if you want to print your own. Parameters such as finger spacing is customizable:

Those look great! Thanks for sharing. Did you happen to experiment with wing tip light mounts? I have been looking around for a mount to fit my AEROLED Pulasr EXP lights since my gauge pod mount area is a touch too small for the light footprint.

Yep - I made a set of aeroled pulsar nxp mounts (would those fit for you)? They seem quite nice though I haven't yet mounted them to the wingtip. What kind of 3D printer are you guys using? There is a lot out there ranging from super cheap to high dollar!

I use a MakerFarm printer (because I had a gig working on the Marlin firmware most 3d printers use). However, there are two I'd recommend:

* Anything from Prusa. They are widely regarded as the best unless you want to spend >$1500. Approx $700, good build volume, just works, super good support. https://www.prusa3d.com/ (note - there are many clones, unless you want to futz with them a lot, just buy the real thing. You can buy it as a kit, it is easy to assemble). Can actually print replacement parts for all the plastic parts on the printer (the hw and sw are open source).

* The Monoprice printers are quite nice considering their low price - $160-$300.

+1 to the Prusa recommendation. You can save some money if you buy the kit and build it yourself, and in so doing learn how the thing goes together. If you can assemble a Sonex rudder you can put together one of these. I have a Prusa i3 Mk2S, and the newer i3 Mk3 is even better.

I'm thinking when mine arrives I could print handles for my brake levers..once I get the hang if it maybe.

I have the TAZ6. It's expensive (although I had a price alert from Amazon for a year until it dropped $400 from the list price) but the ability to print things like nylon and polycarbonate has been essential for my Aerovee intake experiment.
