Kit Piece Inventory

Postby dbdevkc » Wed Jul 13, 2011 2:56 pm

I just received delivery of my Waiex airframe kit. My question is how to go about doing the piece inventory? Is there a master list anywhere, or am I to be going through the plans page by page...

Thanks,
Kevin - W0169

You should have gotten an inventory list checked off by the Sonex folks, maybe in with your packing list? I just started opening boxes, looked at each piece and found it on the list and checked it, then when I ran out of parts went down and make sure everything was accounted for.

I didn't find a packing list. Found a 'welcome' cover letter with a copy of the liability release that I had signed and an envelope with a patch and pin, but no inventory list... :?

I know this sounds dumb but have you looked through all the boxes? Andy is right on...there should be an inventory list of several pages that you can use. Look through everything (including the plans) and if you can't find anything give Sonex a call.

Kevin

Be certain you look all over every box and piece of pallet - somewhere there is a list of all included when they shipped. Ours was a bit hard to find and had slightly faded printing but was usable. And save it! You will find need for it.

Congrats! We just put the skin on the vertical stabilizer. Lots of work to get to this point but worth it all....and best thing to me is that the parts I ruined Sunday only cost $45 to replace! :-)

Let me know if you need anything from our end - we are not far ahead of you....

Off to a rocky start here. Just finished going through everything. No packing list or inventory. Seems like that should have been with the cover letter and flight manual. Not sure about anything else, but should the motor mount be included - is that something that I could possibly overlook ...?

Kevin, if you are missing the motor mount perhaps you do not have all of the boxes...???

I'd give them a call Kevin - so far all of my interactions with Sonex have been very good. They accidentally charged me to crate the tail kit and when I asked they refunded the cost in minutes....

Mystery solved. Spoke with Mark and the packing list/inventory is typically in a plastic envelope on the outside of the box that contains the motor mount ... oh and by the way, the motor mount is on back order. I am guessing that because the mount is B/O'd, the list didn't get attached by accident. They do scan them, so they were able to send me a PDF.

Great, glad you got your parts sheet!

Th inventory process is a PITA and one of the less fun times in the process, but at least you get a to see what a lot of the parts look like (and you'll see a few where you say "what the heck is THAT for?!?").
