Red Cube vs Gold Cube.............?

I bought the Electronics International engine monitor.....CGR-30P at Oshkosh 2017 and had to fill out a form for them to do the proper set-up of the instrument before they shipped it from the factory a month later.

The one item on the sheet was fuel flow.....it stated for a gravity feed system you MUST use the Gold Cube to get "proper steady readings". It is interesting to see that many (or some) builders/flyers have the wrong Cube (according to the manufacture) and are still getting good results......(?)

I have installed the Gold Cube in my Onex but first flight will be next summer so the jury is still out on that one. On my previous RV/Lycoming installations I used the Red Cube and they worked well.
