Tailspring Shim

Postby racaldwell » Thu Nov 16, 2017 2:31 pm

I fitted the shim in the tailspring mount last weekend. No slop. This worked great. Mine took one wrap of 0.004" steel shim material that was cut the length of the titanium spring inside the mount. I drilled an oversize hole in the shim so the AN4 bolt for the spring also keeps the shim from moving. The bottom was cut at the shim seam to clear the bolt. All was well oiled with lanolin and the titanium rod was coerced into place.
