Brake pedal production run

Postby fastj22 » Sun Apr 30, 2017 6:41 pm

I got an order for 5 so I'll do a production run. Still don't have an oven to powder coat but these can be rattle canned on your own.
Price is $65/pair shipped to CONUS. If outside US, its $50 plus actually shipping costs. I'll contact you for payment info (PayPal) if you have it, check if you don't.
Price includes only the pedals. You supply the upper mounting tang out of your scrap pile and the master cylinders (Hegar).
If you haven't contacted me yet, I can add more to the run. Its more of just getting the shop setup to pump them out.

John,

Where did you mount the master cylinder?

Thanks,

I mis-spoke, I am wondering where people have mounted the reservoir when installing the dual hydraulic MC-4's?

I have a set of John's toe brake pedals installed on my Waiex.
The master cylinders mount between the pedal's lever arm and the rudder pedal structure.
If you use the recommended Hegar master cylinders they have built in reservoirs.
You can see my brake pedal installation on my builder's log at www.mykitlog.com/donbowen.
Everyone has an opinion, but I think these brake pedals are much nicer than the brake lever.

I have no idea. The Hegars we use don't have reservoirs which requires we bleed more often. But I'm sure if you use a master with one, you'll figure out a good solution.
I now have orders for 7 sets. I'm going to do a run of 10 and sell the extras the Mile High Flyin.

Hi John an fellow Sonex enthusiasts,

I'm a new member to this post as of today. I would like you to add my order for one set to your brake pedal production run. I am not currently building a Sonex but I would like to make it possible to build a B-model with braking via the rudder pedals as your mod seems simple to incorporate in the build process. I do not know how to contact you and make the transaction take place when parts become available. Please advise.

Update.
I've procured the raw materials and started the production run. I've got lots of late orders and will build enough for everyone. I'd be closer but my HF step drills just gave up and I was creating more smoke than shavings! Keep in mind, I'll ship these raw steel and you will need to figure out powder coating or rattle canning them on your own. I will use proceeds to buy an oven.

Right now, I'm looking at two weeks to finish them. Got a college graduation this next weekend, dang that daughter! Everyone who wants a set will get them. I'll so make a enough for anyone who comes to the Mile High Flying to pick them up there.
When I'm ready to ship, I'll send a note to everyone who PM'd me.
