Tailwheel

Postby Corby202 » Sun Jan 29, 2017 12:48 am

Decided I had ad enough of the tail wheel noise on my plane so I purchased one from Peter Anson. Peter supplied a complete replacement, wheel, pneumatic tyre, fork and pivot. The total weight was 100 gram less then the standard wheel and fork. Surprising when there is a substantial pivot bearing included allowing the pivot bolt to be tightened so no more elongating the pivot holes. Link attached for some pictures. (still haven't figured out how to actually post pictures sorry).
Flew the plane today, tailwheel noise all but gone. a little more force required on the pedals due either to the larger wheel or because of the extra grip.

So I assume that collar is the tool he designed to transfer the hole to the pivot weldment. Looks good!
