What was old is new again

Many of you on this forum know that I used to work at EAA. In fact, I was there for nearly 10 years, from October of 2001 till April of 2011. Well, the opportunity has presented itself for me to return to the EAA staff. I have accepted the position of "Flight Training Manager", and I start next week.

This being the case, today was my last day as an employee of Sonex Aircraft. I want to publicly thank John, Betty and the rest of the crew for the opportunity to work with them at Sonex, and I want to thank all of you loyal customers for your support and encouragement through both good and bad times. It's been an honor and a pleasure to work with the entire Sonex staff, and with all of you.

I will continue to frequent these forums, so I'll still be around. Y'all are free to contact me via the private message feature of the forums here if you have a specific question you feel I can help you with. Of course I encourage you to continue to use the Sonex tech support contacts as you always have. Kerry and the Sonex staff will be happy to help you!

I believe I speak for everyone Joe when I say that I hate to see you leave the Sonex factory, but I'm very excited for you and your future adventures! EAA is getting a wonderful new employee and your new position sounds very exciting!

I want to thank you for everything you've done for the Sonex community. Between T-Flight, tech support, forums help, and everything else you've done, the entire community is better and safer because of your efforts. Thank you for everything!

Congratulations on the new job adventure Joe! I know that the Sonex community has appreciated your tech support (especially with the AeroVee and Aeroinjector) on the forum, in person, and via email/phone. You have helped many builders - myself included - complete the dream of building and successfully flying their EAB "kitplane".

I remember the transition training we did together back in early March this year (and completed my flight review at the same time) which prepared me for my first flight of Sonex 1629.

Joe, for me you were pretty much the "face" of the EAA during your years there. But, wherever you work and whatever you do, you come across as "the best" and if you are leaving Sonex LLC, I'm so glad to hear that you're going back to EAA. Best of success in your new position and thank you for all your contributions to the sport side of aviation over the past sixteen years.
