Wing tip light adapter

Postby Concorde » Wed Dec 07, 2016 8:46 am

What kind of adapter do you guys use for the Wing tip lights. Aircraft Spruce has one for Sonex for $125.00/each  item # 11-10653. Any cheaper alternative or diy out there ?
Thanks.

I will suggest you check out http://www.gaugepods.com to see some very reasonable wing tip adaptors. $20 for a pair, and you can paint them or get colored ones for $2 more.

Here's a picture of the gauge pods with a really cheap $14 LED strobe installed. I wrapped mine in red vinyl.
Here's the link to the strobe. Works great.

The gaugepods are nice. Unfortunately they are too small for my Whelen Orion 600's. At some point I'll sell mine.

Thank you guys very much for your help. $20.00 is a lot better than $125.00.
Is gaugepods a good fit for Aveo powerburst ?

I have that exact setup and I'm very happy with them. The Aveo's are a little smaller than the mounting surface of the gaugepods stand off but they certainly fit just fine. Just like you said, the price can't be beat!

Does anybody know the wingtip angle and dihedral angle? I am going to make molds for my Whelen Orion lights.
