Aerovee won't start

He reinstalled the engine and it will run on the magnatonsnbut shutsdown when he switches to the secondary ignition. He is quite frustrated. Any sggestions? Thanks

Make sure the coils and spark plug wires are connected the correct cylinders.

That, and make sure the coils are getting power, and are grounded. They won't work without the electrical source and proper ground. I know it was running before the overhaul, but lots of wires get disconnected when the engine is removed, so it's possible something was missed, or not connected properly.

Also be sure the coils are firing.

If they are firing, then the timing is off. Assume the timing is advanced and retard it until it starts.

Remember air, fuel and spark. If it is getting the first two - which it usually is - then it is probably the spark you're missing.
