3300 static rpm; jabiru group?

Postby messydeer » Tue Apr 19, 2016 12:19 pm

Hey, guys :-)

I'd like to know what the normal max rpm for a static ground runup for a 3300 is. I've got a Prince prop, fwiw. And what are you getting in flight for WOT?

Last question, where is there now a Jabiru group? Yahoo is down, usjabiru.net site says it's under construction.

Thanks!

At 6900MSL, my ground run up gets around 2700 RPM. In cruise, WOT at 8500 MSL I usually see around 3000RPM. Prince Ptip.

I saw 2900RPM static yesterday. The accuracy or my MGL RPM is suspect though. Plane runs a Sensenich prop.

I used to run a 54 x 60 Prince P tip with carbon fibre coating. Full throttle static - 3000 rpm, full throttle straight and level - over 3300 rpm. Tach checked against optical tacho and is accurate. I measured the pitch of the prop and as near as I could measure, the pitch appeared to be a max of 59" rather than 60". Have since changed to a coarser pitch prop which is more suitable for cruise. What are you hoping to find out or achieve?
