To drain the oil from the new filter I always take the oil separator return line off and drain from there. I have to remove that fitting anyway to get to the acorn nut on the filter housing. Oil pressure on my turbo went from 40 to 42 psi up to 50 psi in cruise. In cold weather I will see 75 to 80 psi on initial start up until the oil heats up to 70 plus degrees. I have had bad luck with the VDO senders and on my third one at 360 hours. I added a mechanical oil pressure gauge and rely on it for pressure readings. The new sender and the mechanical seem to be close for now but I don't trust it yet. If your pressure reading is correct and remains high when the oil temp gets to 100 or more you may have a problem with the rear oil control spring or it's plunger, they may be to tight or stuck.
