Bill's a great guy, and a heck of a homebuilder. He's built a couple of Super Cubs, and at least one Hatz Biplane. You'd do well to go introduce yourself to him. I'm sure you'd enjoy chatting with him, and he's very willing to share his knowledge and talents.

Adam and I did 2 hours of deburring this AM. That makes for 4 man-hours. Does not make for exciting pictures. He did take an opportunity to learn about ice, low traction, open differentials, and the importance of momentum.

Hi Bryan,

Regarding the photo of the C-140 you posted yesterday, reminded me of the plane I learned to fly in. That was many years ago. After I got my Private, I got into a flying club that had a 140. I won't say how long ago that was, but to give you an idea, I logged many hours at $3.00 an hour (WET).
Coming right along now with my Waiex, now that I've decided to continue with the build. Will be starting on the Wings next. Seriously thinking about a Viking up front. And I miss flying too.

We had our first Sonex fly-in visitor today. Josh Bardell stopped by in his Sonex!


He said it was a whopping 9 minutes to get here behind the turbo. Nice to see his panel, we are definitely going to add a subpanel.


We didn't get a great picture of the departure as he was too quick for us!

It was a pleasure meeting you both! Your project looks incredible: the detail, precision and polish are the finest I have ever seen. Looking forward to many visits and getting you up in the air with me in 30 more hours so you guys can get a little time in the Sonex. Nothing motivates more than flight time in the make/model (I have Bill to thank for that)!

I dug out my template for the sub-panel and put it in the cargo bay. My goal is to drop it off tomorrow afternoon when I pass back through.
