I would be interested in some close-up photos of the canopy bow. It looks nice, how did you do it?

Thanks, I will try and get some better shots when next at the airfield but basically the bows are drilled and tapped, covered in heat shrink tubing and glued to the canopy with Sikaflex along with the side channels which are also drilled and tapped. The black paint looking stuff on the canopy is the Sikaflex primer painted on the inside of the canopy. I did not countersink any of the plastic.

By my reckoning, that means building was a 40hr/wk "full time job" for a year for you! Wow, that's tenacity!

Well its probably more like 15 months, but I retired from work at the same time and was supposed to be a retirement project but I sort of got carried away as I was enjoying the building along with flying the Corby Starlet and Riding the Triumph I didn't have time for anything else that's for sure.

Thanks for all the comments. I did the second flight today, 45 minutes, I took the GPS along for the ride and figured out the MGL ASI was the incorrect one so I recalibrated that, both ASI's read the same now. Got it back to 60 knots and tried out the different flap settings, the force required to get the 30deg of flap is more then I like. Opened the throttle at 3100 I was showing 120knots, I also need to add a trim tab to the rudder as I was constantly holding right rudder. The first landing was three touch and goes in quick succession so I powered on and went around. The next one was much better. The engine is running way to rich so I have to figure that out. I do like flying this plane though.
