Scott, I took a couple of pictures of the Onex nose wheel pant on the factory Onex. I have the older version nosewheel pant on my Sonex that is wider, that uses the brackets. Jeremy had told me that he felt the Onex wheel pant was an improvement and would offer less drag. From your picture, it looks like you have the newer Onex style wheel pant. Here are the pictures from the factory Onex...

N629SX has moved (again) to the airport, this time the wings made the final journey as well.

Now to finish moving my tools and supplies, and tackle the 1-page punch list!

Talked to Joe at the factory yesterday about scheduling a t-flight session in early March when I will already be in the Chicagoland area.

Good times!

Making some progress with final assembly! Wings are on, and the Nav/strobe lights work!

Nice lights!
Taildragger Waiex in progress, tail done, wings done, about to mate wings to fuse,
then cowl, canopy, paint (photos): flush rivets, turbo aerovee, acro ailerons
(I built my RV7A and happily flew it for about 500 hrs)

Steadily making progress towards completion! Crossing items off my punch list feels good!

Over the past few weeks my son and I have installed the wings, and gotten all of the bolts on and cotter pinned in place. Tip strobe/LEDs are installed and functioning.

Today I got the landing light wired in, and I get to make a second attempt at trimming the lense (messed up the first one after tanking the 6 months break and completely trimming away the excess plexi around the opening pattern I traced last summer -- oops).

Wing root doubler and wing walk is trimmed, and installed with the VANS rubber seal.

Last big project is the surgery on the nose wheel pant. I am very close to having this finished. Ended up with a nice two piece wheel pant that will be removable without taking the nose strut off the engine mount.

Finishing up the painting/vinyl on the ailerons and then balancing these before installation:

Later this week I am heading to Oshkosh to conduct T-Flight training with Joe Norris. Looking forward to this valuable experience, and also getting my paper work submitted to the FAA sometime this month!
