Powerburst Strobes

I've got limited panel space left for switches. I was thinking of installing a single switch to power both the Aveo Powerburst strobe and position lights.

Does someone have knowledge or experience in doing this? Is it doable?

Wire them to your master. That way when you forget to turn it off, you will immediately know.

It is doable. The only issue is you can't turn off your strobes separately. Not good for night IMC. That may not be an issue! I have had to do just that in the Arrow though. The strobes are blinding in the snow at night.

If you plan on using your plane after sunset, check the FARs. I believe they state you have to have your landing lights, anti-collision lights, and navigation lights on separate circuits.

Yes, I did it on my AeroVee powered Sonex. I used a 3 position switch. Center position is off, down is nav lights only, and up is nav and strobe lights. No problem.

I split the nav power wire and connected it to both the upper and lower lugs of the switch. The strobe is connected to only one lug.

Here is an excerpt from Aeroelectric on how I wired mine. On mine the bottom position is off, middle is nav. only and top position is nav. and strobes.
