That's massive panel! I'm going to guess that: #1 you are a tall, and #2 it's tri-gear.

I think it's possible to make the stock panel quite a bit taller before it obstructs your vision over the nose. I'd guess as much as 4" taller.

Yes, It's a bigger panel than the standard Sonex. That's the beauty of "experimental". You can customize the plane to meet your requirements as long as you don't mess with the structure. I'm 6'-2" and it works fine for me. Forward visibility is just fine. And yes, its a tri-gear. I'm really satisfied with the panel and would do the same thing again.

Added some photos of the current configuration of my Rotec 34-2 TBI. The filter box has two (2) inlets for carb heat and ram air with a damper valve to select one or the other. Also I made and installed an air flow straightener between the filter and the TBI. It is made from a 2-1/4-in air duct flange and aluminum honeycomb (3/16-in cell & 3/4-in thick). It is held with J B Weld in flange and hangs down into the air filter ID.

Hi Craig.

I am interested in checking out your Rotec TBI install pictures as I am currently installing one on a Rotax 912. I don’t seem to be able to open any images on this forum so if anyone has my ideas as to why I can’t access images I’d appreciate advice on that too.
Cheers
