Drilling holes in forward Tunnel Zee

Postby Darick » Sat Dec 19, 2015 12:46 pm

The very top and bottom holes are very close to the adjacent walls so the only way I see to drill perpendicularly is to remove the aft tunnel zee. My tite fit 90 degree angle drill attachment won't even work here.
The holes are circled in blue.

As always, I underestimated the time to finish this area, SNX-F11.

Darick,
I don't remember what I did. You have enough holes clecoed in the forward tunnel thar removing the aft tunnel zee to complete should not be a problem.

Have you tried a Dremel tool with a snake attachment with a short drill bit for trying to drill in tight confines? I am not sure if you can get it inside there, but if you have already done some riveting and don't want to remove a bunch of rivets it might be worth a try.

Just uncleco and remove the aft zee. You'll be putting that zee on and off several more times in the future (wing rigging, etc) so may as well practice it. A 6" or 12" long bit helps in this area.
