I've had to do the same on my J3300. Pulled the cowl recently and noticed that my patches now have cracks! I've got my conditional inspection coming up in April and I'm thinking about re-doing the baffle sides and somehow incorporating movement joints. I've still got a few months to think about it.

Could one just cut a relief channel and seal the gap with the red baffle tape like the front?
