Sportair Workshops TIG Welding Class

Guys,

I'm thinking about taking the Sportair TIG welding class on Jan 7-8 in Griffin Georgia. Is anybody else in the area interested in meeting me there or riding with me?

Looks like the class is already full...hopefully you already got enrolled. I'd really like to learn welding, but I am so ingorant on this subject....is TIG the type of welding we would use on our weldments? I may have to attend in the future.

If you do go, let us know after the class whether or not you feel you are capable of basic welds. I don't plan on doing my engine mount, but it would be nice to make / customize some of these smaller pieces.

I took the Sportair gas welding class last year in Houston as I plan on doing my own welding with the exception of the motor mount. It was a great way to get the basics of the gas welding process, and that is a type of welding training that is getting very hard to come by, almost a lost art. I am glad I took it, and it was worth the price and more. I decided on the gas welding because it is supposed to be easier to learn, and not as expensive equipment wise. If you have access already to TIG equipement, it will be more expensive to obtain unless you already have access to it, then TIG is the way to go.
