Just a thought, but what about two versions of the same sticker as well. This would allow it to be placed on the desired side or on both so that on both sides of the plane it will face forward. If you get what I mean.

btw I really like version 4

No offense guys but I'm not putting a picture of a Sonex on my plane any more than I would put a picture of a Microbus on the bumper of my VW. I can go with the tail with initials or ribbon or the thumbs up or any other idea but I'm not sticking a picture of my plane on my plane. It just feels too ridiculous and that's not how I want to honor these guys. It's more about the awesome people who made my plane a work of functional art and I'd rather just hand paint their initials on it than a profile view of the plane people can actually look at to get a profile view.

I, too, like the one with the Sonex silhouette.

I'm with vwglenn on this issue. Everyone knows who Jeromy and Mike were and what they did in the Sonex community. The sticker should reflect a representation of their memorial not the products they were associated with IMHO. I will not put a picture of an airplane on my bird either.

My 2 cents and worth every penny of it....
Something very subtle, perhaps just their initials, the date of the incident and the word "Forward". No other symbolism. (frankly, the ribbon graphic has run its course and overused) The purpose is to inspire us and have the casual viewer to ask about it. Every time we explain it, we honor them. Those of us who choose, place it on our canopy or windscreen in the same location.

Now I will admit I was a Boy Scout leader and we had lots of patches and honorarium that was always placed in the same location. It showed brotherhood and solidarity.

Then what about a simple black oval with their initials?

Here's my contribution, the message can be changed, the point I'm trying to make is that the emphasis should be on the message not the graphic. I think the message in black and the graphic 20% black printed on clear would achieve that. I am not keen on anything flashy or product oriented, but I think it needs more than just text. I associate the yellow ribbon with service personnel.

My condolences to all affected by this tragic event.
