That must have been quite a job to make that. Just curious, did you not want to use the Sonex plastic tank or did you make it larger or something?

How much does it weigh compared to the stock tank? Thinking about how it affects the CG.

Only a budget thing, to ship one to New Zealand would double the cost, as for the weight I don't know probably a bit lighter than the Sonex one.

Have you checked capacity yet just curious to know if it holds more or less than the stock tank.

If you are installing a Rotax 912S, I believe you will need a port on your tank for a fuel return line. I used to fly a light sport plane with a Rotax 912S and we had to always start and use up half of the left tank before we switched to the right tank because the fuel return line went to the left tank and would cause it to overflow otherwise.

I am currently installing a Rotec TBI with a Facet fuel pump and had to plumb a new port into my fuel tank for a fuel return line.

Thanks,

Jake

Jake,
We installed our rotec tbi without the facet pump, bought one at Oshkosh at wicks booth but did not install. Tried first without it , read earlier posts from people who installed the rotec. One person said at full throttle needed the pump. We have not had that experience , and have not needed the pump. We have a jabiriu 3300. We did install a carb heat muff and box. I'm putting in the oops fittings pre-emptively in our second waiex#183. Lots of work , especially the material inside the tank to remove. I don't see how someone could do this with the tank installed in the plane. One fitting in #143 leaked on us. The sump rt side unused. Did an external patch. Hoping the others won't develop leaks. We love our rotec tbi , the earlier carb did not work out. Remember when priming to open the throttle to expose the spray bar. Do u have the mark 1 or 2 ? Ours is the mark 1. Good luck installing let us know how u like it.
