Polishing help

Any helpful hints as to how to polish the end of the rear fuselage for a Waiex where the rudder and elevon cables exit. I will disconnect the cables but how do you get around all the "stuff" and in the nooks and crannies? Rick Waiex 0146

I don't have a Waiex, but I have polished many small parts (like the rudder cable fairings) simply using a rag and some Nuvite on it. You can easily get a mirror shine...it just takes a little work.

I have tried every metal polish out there (not really, but a lot of 'em), looking for one that will just wipe on then wipe off and leave an brilliant shine.... Can't find it. They all take elbow grease. BUT, what I have discovered is that nothing beats NuVite if you can access the area with a power tool. If you cannot and have to do it by hand, "Bright Work" is the best hand applied metal polish I have found. I use step 1 and step 2 for areas like you are talking about Rick. Just my opinion and others may vary.

Thanks guys. Going to polish more tomorrow. Since I have the Nuvite, that is what I will try tomorrow. Bright work will come next. Rick. Waiex 0146

Having trouble getting directly behind the elevon pushrod. Is there possibly a small polisher that might work? Would have polished prior to assembling but we switched gears from painting mid stream.
