Is there something special about the washing machines at the laundromat? It seems to me that if you are afraid of washing them in your own washing machine, putting the pads in someone else's is pretty inconsiderate--unless, of course, they are set up to handle the mess.

I never ran mine through a washing machine. I soaked them overnight in TSP then sprayed them with a garden hose on high pressure then hung them up to dry. Important thing is to mark the pads as to what grade polish they were used with so if any grit remains you aren't getting course grit in with the fine polish.

Fair point - but it is not my washing machine! It is my wife's! With a TSP pre-soak and rinse off I think it would be fine but I would never convince her.
