My Sonex has an N number!

Postby Sonex1517 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 6:01 pm

My Sonex is now officially N1517S

Just shy of 4 years build time and I reached the point where it was time to register it.

I used the EAA registration package and it was fairly straightforward

One step closer...

The taxman will awaken!

That's what happens in Georgia anyway. When they ask for the bill of sale, send them the one for the tail kit... 8-)

Robbie, How long did it take from when you sent in paper work until you got your registration? I am trying to decide when to request mine.

John,

I also just did this right before Robbie. We traded notes. I sent my registration in to the Aircraft Registration Branch in OKC on a Saturday, and with snail mail both ways from Ohio I had my registration within 8 business days (less than 2 weeks total time).

I had a reserved number for about a year and when I sent my registration paperwork in it took less than 2 weeks. I was shocked that it came back so fast. I had anticipated at least a month to 6 weeks but it didn't take long at all.

As Scott said, total time less than two weeks. I was impressed. (And totally ramped up dude!)

Wait, did I just say that?
