Looking for a Waiex/Sonex ride near Chicago...$? :)

Hi Sonex friends,

I have been reading and posting in the Waiex thread as a newbie. I am trying to finalize my decision to own my own plane and the Waiex/Sonex is at the top of my list. Is there anyone in the area that can be coaxed into a little flight this weekend or an evening. Will compensate for your time and knowledge. Weather looks good all weekend and I can meet anywhere.

Hi Josh

While I am in Chicagoland I am still building. There are only a few flying in the area and one is at a grass strip out west that is not usable yet.

Hopefully one of the other local members will see this and respond. I know there is a tricycle gear Sonex with an AeroVee based in Gary and the owner/builder frequents the forum.

Where is your nearest airport? If not this weekend I would try to get you going in the near future if I can fit it in.(Annual due in march and weather is not playing well) I'm In Peoria which is about 1 hour from Bolingbrook. anything SW of the Draconian Chicago radar area is ok with me.

I am located at 3CK (Lake in the Hills) but can drive or fly down where needed to meet.
I can go as early as this weekend or the weekend of the 21-22nd.

Robbie - I talked to the Aerovee in Gary. Very nice guy, but he doesn't fly at night and weekends are harder for him. Scheduling will be tough there.
