Clecos too short???

Postby aferddaberts » Thu Feb 26, 2015 10:46 am

This message is specfially for dhogie about the clecos being too short to reach through several layers ;

Google in "yardstore.com" That is an aircraft supply outfit located in Wichita, Kansas. They stock many kinds and types of clecos, short ones, long ones etc. They also sell used ones for less than half price. Or you can call them up 1 800 888 8991.

I have at least 20 long clecoes for each size. They are indispensable.

Recently finished my spars. Did not have any clecos long enough to span center spar buildup so I clecoed every third at 1/8" on opposite sides. Clamped securely and updrilled the hole between the opposing 1/8" clecoed holes. Actually the hardest part of the spars was drilling the steel pivot fittings and in total they were easier to build that my Sonex & Waiex spars. Came out fine and for my 30 hours work I have $2K to go towards my engine now.
