Sonex Ownership in New England 2015!

Postby mike.smith » Mon Feb 16, 2015 9:43 pm

OK, so all you pilots complaining about the weather, if you don't live in New England this year I just don't want to hear it!

I'm a skier, but SHEESH! $500/month hangar rent (if you can even find a hangar) is starting to look good at the moment.

;) :D  :?

That's just sad Mike! My wife is reading Time magazine right now and saw the 71" of snow for Boston.

It isn't just the snow either. I don't think there temperature has gotten above freezing since around Christmas. It was negative 4 degrees out yesterday morning when I got up. The high today is supposed to be 14.

Is it a bigger winter than '93? We had a lot of snow that year. I was still an avid skier and did not fly much in the winter.

Winter in 78' was huge in Iowa when I was in high school. Semi's drove past the house after the road was plowed and you couldn't see them only feel them.

Mike,

Come west a bit to Southern tier of Western NY. Weather almost as bad, but new tee hangars about to open up at KOLE leaving space in main hangar that is heated to above freezing for only $200 a month for a Sonex. Nice ski areas close by too.

Back in my C140 days there was a Canadian gentleman named Michael Charette who had some great buried pictures. His wings were just barely visible. I was going to look for them but the C140 site is down for maintenance. Being Canadian, his reaction was to get the skis on!

Great pictures! Looks like the polish is holding up great!
