oil priming the Aerovee

I am ready to prim the engine. I do not have room install the prop in my shop. Can I prime the engine oil without the prop? Has anyone done this.

I primed mine without the prop. Didn't seem to hurt anything.

Is there any harm in priming the engine when a significant amount of time may elapse before actually starting it for the first time? My concern is that priming may dislodge white lithium/assembly grease, after which the engine sits and the thinner oil drains away, leaving less lubricant for the actual first start.
