Flywheel bolts

There were quite a few earlier 3300 that were only torqued to 18 ft lbs. Up to around SN 500- 600 I think. This of course falls under the "improper torque" category. Under the "faulty combustion" category, I can't help but wonder about the uneven fuel distribution that the intake/carb arrangement on the Jabiru. It is astounding how much a 5 degree rotation of the carb can bias the EGTs. And this would be easy to overlook.

The point is: "nothing wrong with them at all" should be perhaps "nothing found wrong with them". After all, something had to be different to cause them to fail. Given the complicated nature of this, not seeing all causes is not a surprise.

Can anyone (Rob?) figure out how to do this bolt replacement without pulling the engine? I'm not sure it's possible. I'm approaching 200 hours and it's a mild concern.

Jab have a boss i think you can buy for flywheel to redrill the extra dowl holes and you just remove the engine and flywheel. I think you would have to remove the rear seal casing not sure but I am sure you would not have to do a major strip. I was lucky mine 2200 was the first hydrolic lifter so the mod was done. I just done a major overhaul and reverted back to solid lifters all went well. allycol.Any one who wants info on solid lifters reply. Cheers

Where does one get the flywheel attachment bolts and "hardened" washers? If using washers, do the bolts have to be slightly longer to account for the washer or is there enough thread there?
