The following was posted for Robert Eley.......

Hello all:

I wanted to let everyone know again about the 8th Annual American Sonex Association Fly-in located in Crossville, TN (KCSV) Oct 7th & 8th, 2011. We will start at noon Friday til dark with lunch and dinner served. We will continue Saturday morning with a Dawn Patrol between 0700 - 0800CT, Sonex rides should start around 10:00 and lunch at 12:00. There will be several presentations from 13:00 - 16:00 to include building and installing a smoke system in your Sonex by John Davis. EFI Aerovee by Peter Van Schalkwyk. EFI 3300 Jabiru by Michael Crowder and Ted Staton will discuss how he applied the knowledge gained from Dr. Rod's (Hot Rod electrical) classes at ASA to his flying Xenos and even a few solar ideas himself. We will have dinner at 17:30 and close out the Fly-in at dark. We hope to see many old friends and hopefully a lot of new ones. Please help by registering in advance at http://www.americansonexassociation.org . The list is steadily growing as will the need for more food that must be ordered in advance as well. A side note to the folks who have stayed at the Inn of the Cumberland in years past. They have changed to a long term stay hotel and will not be able to accommodate more than two or three reservation. With this in mind many of us have chosen to stay at the La Quinta Inn at 4038 Hwy 127 Crossville, TN 38571 (931-456-9338). Pete has posted many accommodations on the web site but I don't believe the La Quinta was on there. OK, enough for now. I will post a reminder in a few weeks. See you soon.

Question: What Hotels are Recommended for the fly-in?

Robert Eley's Response: The La Quinta Inn 4038 Hwy 127 Crossville Tn 38571 (931) 456-9338 is were most of us will be staying. Wayne Daniels I think has booked there and may look for a roomy to share the cost. Actually its a great idea for most. We used to stay at the Inn of the Cumberland just down from the airport (KCSV) but they have turned to a long term facility. You can also go to www.americansonexassociation.org and click on 2011 gathering for other hotel accommodations Pete Pearson put together.

Hello All,

Now that the American Sonex Association gathering is only a few weeks out, I wanted to see if anyone is planning on attending. As of now, I'm hoping and planning to hop in the homebuilt that's flying and head down first thing Saturday morning. It should be around 2 hours to get there so, weather permitting, I'd like to be there for most of the day Saturday.

Is anyone else planning on coming in? I hope to meet some of you all there!

One week, 7 days left before the great American Sonex Association fly-in

One week, 7 days left before the great American Sonex Association fly-in.

As Mark Twain once said "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

I know a place where you can do this. Its in Crossville, TN. All you have to do is register and make your way there. Bring your wife, a friend, anyone, just be there.

We want you there on October the 7th and the 8th so with out putting it off another minute got to:

http://www.americansonexassociation.org/Signup.html and make the commitment to come.

For all of you that have built and are flying your aircraft, we already have 30 Sonex/Waiex and Xenos aircraft committed to come. I don

I'm pre-registered and can't wait! I'm hoping to hop in the other homebuilt and be there early Saturday for a day of checking out some nice airplanes! Keep the weather forecast the same please, and if you can extend that north into Ohio I would appreciate it! :)

Well, we are getting close! I plan to leave Atlanta around 8AM, arrive about 0930 on Saturday and will stay until late afternoon.

Hopefully, my friend with his VariEze will be my wingman. He'll be a fish out of water but that's OK...
