My plane has a new home.

Postby radfordc » Sat Oct 11, 2014 4:16 pm

I spend an hour with the new owner of my plane (N168SX) this morning. He has a narrow 2300 foot grass strip and wants to be sure that he is comfortable before taking her in there. We had a gusty 10 mph cross wind and it made it somewhat difficult for him to get the feel of the Sonex. We will fly another hour together later this week and then he will fly her to her new home. His field is about 50 miles from where I'm based.

Are you sad to see it go? Is the another project/airplane on your mind...or changes in your life and no airplane?

Yeah, This is a bummer if there ever was one. I have lost my "Flight Leader". On the other hand while Charlie was up with Ed, I was up with Ray Kurian's new build partners. He is adding manpower to finish his Sonex. It is getting close enough that they are looking for a hanger. For some reason my 5 landing yesterday were some of the worst I have done in years. Bounce, bounce, bounce. This old dog needs to relearn his old tricks.

Here are the shots I took of the new "Sonex Smiles".
