New Intake Manifold Spacers from Sonex

Anyone else receive these mystery pieces in the mail from Sonex recently? I opened the mailbox today to find a bubble wrap package surprise from Sonex.

I understand what they are, and where they go, but the engineer in me wants to know the "why" behind the design change and why they were mailed out without a SB or any sort of precursor announcement that they were coming.

P.S. Sonex, if your reading this, inquiring minds want to know (I will also be emailing tomorrow to ask as well).

P.P.S. Sonex if you want to send any other unannounced packages I will gladly accept a turbo package (beta test) and you can use my work address since we have a loading dock for deliveries!

Scott,
Nope, I didn't get one of those packages. Does the line on your packing sheet say "MOFOCO Error"?
Rationale for the part: Unknown. Maybe it is related to the turbo installation and this is the first installment of your hoped-for delivery! (Don't get your hopes up)

I wonder if it's to solve the difficulty of getting to the rear spark plugs?

Your correct Mike, good catch. I've got the online PDF format of the AeroVee manual saved as a bookmark on my iPad and just noticed there is a new revision, dated 9/11/14. Page 36 calls this out.

Would have thought there would be some better communication on this change from Sonex.
