Fuel Flow

I just did a fuel flow test of my Sonex tail dragger in the parked position. If anyone wants to check my math:
- 1 gal came out in 82 seconds
- Flow(GPH) = 3600 X #Gallons/#Seconds
- 3600 x (1/82) = 43.9 gph
At 0.55 lbs per HP, the Aerovee should burn:
- 0.55 lbs x 80 hp = 44 lbs/hour
- 44/6 lbs (avgas) = 7.33 gph (wide open throttle)
FAA says design for 150%, so...
- 7.33 ghp x 150% = 11 gph
So at 43.9 gph I think I have enough fuel flow ;)
Next I need to check with a steep (25 deg) climb angle.
