I'm having oil pressure issues which have caused a couple of external oil filter blowouts. Those have been documented in the "elusive dry aerovee" thread. One thing to consider is to drill and tap your VW case for the full flow fitting while you are building it. Even if you are not committed to the idea, you can put in a pipe thread plug into the galley and then it is an easy swap later - if you decide you want/need to do it later.
