Why do some of the icons on the left of each subject appear to scroll, and some do not? I just can't risk flying again until I get this problem solved!

I have not experienced this problem. Some adware on your browser maybe?

I wondered this too. Some also have a little red star in them. I'm sure we are missing something simple. I thought maybe they were being edited or viewed perhaps...

The scrolling icon appears for popular topics with many replies.
