Has anyone run ethanol free and regular mogas in an Aerovee and seen any differences other than the necessity to re-calibrate capacitive fuel gauges? About a year ago I switched from 100LL to ethanol free mogas and have not seen any difference other than the $1.50 a gallon price. Around here the fuel with ethanol is about $1 a gallon less expensive than the ethanol free.

I have always run ethanol free mogass in both the aerovee aerovee turbo and Jabiru 3300. I have had to burn 100ll when on trips but none of the engines like that much lead. I never have tried ethanol blend in any of the engines so don't know if it causes a drop in power as some suggest.

Hi Jerry,
I have an 8/1 compression Aerovee in My Onex and have only run on 98 Oct Mogas, up to 5% ethanol.
No issuesa after 160 hrs.

Note that Ethanol can cause some types of hose to swell & split or deteriorate (potentially causing debris or clogs). Make sure that all of your hoses & components are safe to use with ethanol before switching.
