Possible cheaper option for more horse power.......

Postby sonex1566 » Mon Jan 13, 2020 9:40 pm

Hello everyone,
The other week when I pulled up at the fuel browser I spotted one of the older club members down on his knees fiddling with something. Well, I couldn't climb out of the cockpit fast enough to go over and have a look. If the smell of castor oil, ether and kero doesn't get you excited, you might be a little young to understand. Today when I was pulling up, he waved me over to give me a present. Now I've still got a bit of saving up to go before I can afford a turbo, but this will make a mighty fine difference to my performance in the mean time.
Geoff gave me the engine, but he will need to purchase another TV so that he can utilise the packaging to make another one!

Richard,

Was it easy to get the castor oil version to run the other way? Or did it take significant modification? ;-)

Probably just installed a reed valve like the old Cox .049s.
