Case vent tube

The case vent tube is normally cut at a 45 at the end where is exits the cowl. Is this to face forward, which would theoretically cause positive pressure into the case OR the cut facing aft which would theorletically cause negative pressure. There is one picture in the manual showing fabrication of the bottom cowl air exit baffle. In this picture the vent is facing forward, but there is no reference to the vent in the instructions. I'm using the oil separator too if this makes a difference.

Guys, Kerry answered my question...
"The oil breather tube does not need to be cut at any particular angle but
should NOT face forward. It can face down or aft. Some people (myself
included) had the oil breather drip onto an exhaust pipe so any oil that
existed it would burn up rather than streak the bottom of the airplane."

Speaking of that - yeah. I had the breather drip onto the exhaust stack (about a 1/8" - 1/4" gap) on my RV and that was how Van's recommended it. Worked good.
