I am having trouble finding # 272 for the gland nut used at the flywheel. Has anyone used anything else with great results? I do have #271. :?:

You can get it on amazon for about $30. I think that Permatex bought out locktite. They have an equivalent but I'm not sure what it is off the top of my head.

Thanks much Joe! I did find the technical spect of Permatex red #27200 thread locker. It is exactly the same as Locktite 272, both being 450 deg and for items up to 1.5 inches. I should be good to go! and thanks to all the others for info too!

Take note of the part numbers of the Permatex thread locker products. They are the old Loctite numbers, followed by a number symbolizing the size of the container you're purchasing! So if you see a Permatex thread locker bottle with a part number that starts "272xx" you're getting the old Loctite 272. Same goes for all the other Loctite numbers. Easy peasy!!
