Engine pre-heater

Has anyone mounted a pre-heater on an Aerovee (a heating pad kind of thing)? Any recommendations?

I put a Katz pad on my Jabiru. Raises the oil temp from ambient (< 30 F) to around 85 F in 2 hours. Been on for over a year and no delamitation.
