Hello everyone.
I was just notified by Sonex that my Aerovee Turbo Kit is ready for shipment and I should receive it here in Florida the week of 2 December 2014. I plan to thoroughly document the upgrade and test flight in great detail. have all ready received the new prop I ordered as well. My Sonex is N369UR at Zepherhills Florida. Some of you may have seen her at the Florida Sonex Association Fly in there.

I see Turbo Envy in my future. Still think it is good for me to control costs now, teach the kids to fly with 80HP, and let you guys beta test. I may want to upgrade by 2020.

A good sensible decision Bryan. I just couldn't help myself and had to order one. I just hope it doesn't turn out like the ground adjustable prop that I rushed into.

I too am waiting to see how the turbo works out and how the installation looks. I thing I will need to move some of the items on the firewall for the turbo. I would go turbo now but I just want to finish and fly around the country. Maybe I'll do it when I have to install for ADS-B.

Yes, I too am having turbo envy, but my wallet says no for now. However, it would be good to know what space in the engine compartment should be reserved for the future addition. Just thought about this...does the turbo require the higher compression ratio?

Quick answer is NO to the higher compression..... I believe all in flight testing, by Jeremy , to date has been on an 8:1 engine. Test cell work is being done on a 7:1 engine. (May be flying now....)
When I replaced my Nikasil cylinders, in preparation for the turbo, I set mine to 7.5:1
