From the Sonex web page, they had the AeroVee turbo installed and running in one of the factory aircraft, at last weekend's builder workshop. I see Jeremy in the cockpit with the prop turning. Did it fly? Can anyone there report on what they saw?

What's purpose of the hood over the turbo? To conceal the ID of the unit? A cap to keep its ears warm in the Wisconsin June? Kevlar, to catch any escaping turbine blades?
Kidding aside, a lot of folks, me included, are watching these developments with interest and wish the Hornets' Nest a lot of good luck.

It's for the fuel tank fill has nothing to do with turbo

I think he was referring to the soft wrap around the turbo itself. Probably just a heat shield.

How did it perform? Or more importantly, how did it sound? :-)
