I did change to a solid wire for the throttle after having MAJOR safety issues with the Sonex provided cable. Sounds like Sonex has upgraded the new cable because of the problem with the original cable. I would strongly recommend the upgrade.


Actually, I just ordered a new cable from Sonex and it was still the stranded cable. I had an extra length of solid wire so I took out the stranded wire and used the solid.

Sonex actually went from solid cable to stranded. The original throttle quadrants were solid cable but they had a few instances of them breaking if the nut assembly in the quadrant wasn't put together right and didn't let the cable swivel when the throttle arm moved. I asked sonex tech support about this a few weeks ago after the discussion about stranded cables and realizing that mine was solid
