Primary Ignition issues

Hi,

I currently am working on 3 different Sonex. Maybe you saw my recent post on the Jab 3300; thanks for your help.

This is concerning a Sonex with magnatron primary ignition and electronic secondary ignition.

The primary ignition works poorly at low RPM (up to 1500 RPM) and works well at full power. There are no issues with the secondary ignition.

After the engine warms up, the primary ignition works better across a lower RPM range.

The engine has brand new coils, just installed (ordered from Sonex) (they are actually a Briggs & Stratton part!)

Summary of problem: primary ignition working poorly at low RPM and colder engine temps. What to do???
